9. Mikel got stuck!
In this unit we will work on physical disabilities. Our school is inattely inclusive so are our students. However, many places are not accesible for everyone and our school might be one of them. As we want to educate tolerant and plural students this unit is intended to raise awareness on physical disabilites.
As a final product students will detect somewhere in the school installation that is not adequate for a person with physical disability and they will find a solution about the problem.
However, to start with we will set groups, create the name of the group, mural and a flag. Also we will write the didactic contract and play team building games.

We will also explain the topic, evaluation criteria and task. In order to get involved in the topic we will watch this interesting video recently recorded:
Then, we will carry out a self assessment activity:
We also will read a book named Howie helps himself and then we will do a reading activity. Have a look to the video:
Today we will carry out pair reading activities. Students in pairs will have one part of the book, they will rehearse it and evaluate each other.
Let's get moving with this refreshing song! Santa is in a wheelchair! Then we will make a running dictation splliting the paragraphs of the song. In groups they will order them and stick it in a big cardboard. They will decoreate it and carry out a coevaluation activity.
Today we will investigate our school. We will detect some place that is not appropriate for someone with physical disabilities and start thinking about a solution to solve it.
We have decided how to solve that problem. Students will make a mural containing the solution they have found. Finally, they will carry out a coevaluation activity.
In groups we will display our murals. Then, we will make a mural contest and pupils will evaluate their peers' production. At the end of the lesson, they will get a diploma. Here you can see the model:
